End of Season

The Society would like to thank everyone who participated in our reading series this year. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed meeting some new members as well as catching up with long standing ones. A special thanks to all the poets who came to read for us this season and were generous enough to share their work with Savannah. Kelly Whiddon's reading was a wonderful closing to a spectacular season of poetry.

Please keep our Cosmos Mariner contest in mind, $500.00 for the winner and the deadline is not until May 15th. See the older post here for details.

Another thanks to all our sponsors this season, the Grassroots Arts Program in conjunction with the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly and administered by the City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs. GCA is a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the arts. Without them none of this would have been possible.

A great summer to you all, members look for your yearbook in the mail in the Fall.
Sincerely,
The Poetry Society of Georgia

An intimate reading

Thanks to all who came to Chad Davidson's reading. Chad is so talented at making his audience feel like a part of the reading rather than "an audience". I thoroughly enjoyed it. For those of you who missed it we hope to see you at The Savannah book Festival and specifically at Dr. Nagueyalti Warren's reading, which we are sponsoring. There are many other great poets reading and you can get all the details at http://www.savannahbookfestival.org/

Here are some pics from Davidson's reading, enjoy!
